Beware of fraudulent instant loan apps! SBI warns customers against digital lending frauds

The country's largest lender, State Bank of India (SBI), has warned against taking out loans from unlicensed internet platforms or mobile apps that promise a quick and painless transaction.

The bank wrote in a tweet: "Be on the lookout for phoney instant loan apps! Please do not click on any illegal links or disclose any personal information to anyone posing as SBI or another bank. For all of your financial needs, go to https://bank.sbi."

In addition, the bank has provided some safety advice to its clients.

Safety tips

-Review the offer's terms and conditions.

-Avoid clicking on links that appear to be suspicious.

-Before downloading an app, be sure it's genuine.

-For all your banking needs, go to https://bank.sbi.

In terms of assets, deposits, branches, customers, and employees, SBI is the largest commercial bank. It is also the country's largest mortgage lender.

SBI alerts its consumers about fraudulent practises on a regular basis. Recently, I published some recommendations for customers on how to keep safe while transacting online. In the tweet, the lender included a brief video clip. According to the tweet, "Stay vigilant and aware to protect yourself from cybercriminals. Here are some things you can do to keep yourself secure." Customers were informed in the video that the financial services sector has traditionally been a target for cybercriminals.

Citizens should report cases of banking cyber fraud to the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal or local police authorities, according to the lender SBI's tweet. For those who are unaware, the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal is a government-sponsored effort that allows victims and complainants to register cybercrime complaints online. This website only accepts complaints about cybercrime, with a focus on cybercrime against women and children.

How to file a complaint on National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal:

To file a cyberfraud report, go to the Cyber Crime Portal (https://cybercrime.gov.in/) and select 'Report other Cyber Crime' followed by 'File a complaint.' It is critical to submit complete and accurate information when making a complaint in order to receive rapid attention. In the event of an emergency, you should contact the local police. The number for the national police helpline is 100.

It's worth noting that SBI often shares tips and mantras with its consumers to ensure safe online banking and ATM activities. The bank even sent out an email to its customers recently with six crucial guidelines to keep in mind when banking online.

"Vigilance is the key to safe banking. SBI has established six key protocols for our customers to follow in order to protect their personal information from scammers. Take precautions.
